My personal mission is to help those that cannot help themselves. Although it shouldn’t be, the legal system can be big and scary, and difficult to navigate. Doing service and helping others is an important life goal for me, so I feel very fortunate that I can accomplish that through my work.
–Aimée Robert
What was the defining moment in your past that set you on the career path you ended up following?
My mother was severely injured in an automobile accident when I was four years old. It left her handicapped for life. An attorney was hired to represent my parents in this matter. This attorney ended up being dishonest and committing fraud and the results were devastating for my family. This attorney ended up in jail after doing the same thing to many more clients. The impact of this event shaped my life and led to my desire to be an honest attorney who truly seeks to help others.

What makes you unique in your industry?
At the Robert Law Group, we’re unique because we’re focused on finding a solution for all clients, including those with low incomes. I do a lot of pro bono work, discount my fees for Veterans and those in low income situations, and even allowed a Hurricane Harvey victim to pay me in free haircuts. Being a veteran myself, I believe that helping Veterans and giving back to my community is extremely important.
Co-Counsel is a unique concept because there’s no one like us in Houston, or really anywhere else. We are a co-working space, catering specifically to attorneys. While co-working spaces are a great option for entrepreneurs and businesses who don’t want to sign a long-term lease, we found that it didn’t meet the needs of many attorneys. Many co-working spaces don’t offer appropriate sound attenuation, or a community of attorneys which can serve as a referral network, or programming specifically catered to helping attorneys run their business. This is where Co-Counsel steps in to help attorneys solve these problems.
Co-Counsel provides high-quality yet flexible workspaces, business resources with exciting social spaces and a community driven platform that provides for the open exchange of ideas, advice and referrals. We are also focused on giving back to the community and offer discounted and free office space to those providing pro bono services.

What is one way you hope to impact your community in the future, either personally or professionally?
I believe it is important to help others navigate a complicated legal system. The legal system should be accessible to everyone so I will continue to offer discounted and pro bono services, and support those that offer them as well.

If you could sit down with any woman in the world–either from history or who is currently living–who would that be and what would you discuss with her?
Amelia Earhart. She was daring, broke through stereotypes, and followed her own path – setting world records along the way. I would love to sit with her to ask her about her confidence and how she overcame the many struggles she must have faced. I’m interested in how she set goals and how she went about accomplishing them.
