THE SETTING: The Hilton Anatole was the setting for one of the state’s most anticipated, elegant, and spectacular evening of fundraising for the 2023-2024 social season. Over 1,600 of the city’s most notable community leaders, sociables, and philanthropists supported The Crystal Charity Ball. This masterpiece of an event had an aptly titled theme, Masterpieces in the Making, in honor of children who are our future and for whom the organization works tirelessly to raise funds.

THE STYLE: The high black tie crowd featured a dazzling mix of colorful ballgowns and classic formal attire that created a festive, playful, and welcoming environment in a nod to the children who will benefit from the generosity of the night’s attendees. The evening, themed around art, began with a cocktail reception where, upon arrival, guests looked in awe at a breathtaking floral replica of Vincent van Gogh’s The Starry Night. Many posed for photographs before this artistic masterpiece to commemorate the event. This was just one of many famous art pieces that had been re-interpreted for the evening, setting an elegant and creative tone. During the cocktail hour, various entertainment options were offered. Many guests were drawn to the pop-up casino, where they could be seen enjoying their favorite games of chance. Others perused an impressive lot of over 200 luxury items in an epic silent auction featuring fashion, fine jewelry, dining, beauty, and plenty of experiential items, including sports and travel packages. The action then moved into the exquisitely decorated ballroom, which featured stunning arrays of white floral décor with pops of red, pink, blue, and purple. Guests then enjoyed an elegant, multi-course meal, during which attendees immersed themselves in the beauty of this masterpiece event. The revelry was capped off with dancing, and the fun continued well into the night. So, it was the perfect exclamation point to end an epic night of fundraising for the North Texas community.

THE PURPOSE: Happily, 2023’s Crystal Charity Ball, chaired by Angie Kadesky, raised over $7 million for The Crystal Charity Ball organization. For over 70 years, the nonprofit has provided funds for projects that have positively impacted the lives of children in the North Texas region. The Crystal Charity Ball 2024, chaired by Cheryl Joyner, will be held on December 7. For more information, visit CrystalCharityBall.org.

This fall, the chic set, and the action turns once again to the Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Dallas. The big news? The fifth installment of this must-attend 2024 event happens at 2999 Turtle Creek Boulevard in the Turtle Creek neighborhood. The venue will be open to the public for three weeks beginning Friday, October 25, 2024, and is also the nation’s leading design event of the year, as well as the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club’s top fundraiser.

Once intended as the space to be Dallas’ first Mandarin Oriental hotel, the grand property sits between the historic Rosewood Mansion and the planned Four Seasons Hotel & Residences, featuring a 25,000 SF two-story office building, 2.3 acres of undeveloped land, and a 60,0000 SF below-grade parking garage. There will be plenty of room for high design at 2999 Turtle Creek since it will seamlessly blend modernity with the historic French-Renaissance style that gives the neighborhood its signature vibe.

We love that in 2020, the internationally recognized Kips Bay Decorator Show House announced its newest satellite show house in Dallas, Texas. We know it well from the New York scene and now that elevated sense of style is firmly planted in Dallas, a city well-known for its inimitable style. There will also be a VIP  President’s Dinner that will happen on October 23rd from 6:30 pm to 8 pm. A link to purchase tickets can be found HERE.

For nearly half a century, top interior designers have come together to raise more than $30 million for the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, which provides young people with much-needed educational and developmental programs. Even better, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas also benefits two local Dallas charities: Dwell with Dignity, a nonprofit agency dedicated to creating soothing, inspiring homes for families struggling with homelessness and poverty, and The Crystal Charity Ball, another Dallas-based organization whose mission is to aid, support and make contributions to children’s charities in Dallas County. See you there and for more information, visit Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse.
