Junior League of Dallas Milestones Luncheon Features Conversation With Good Morning America Anchor Robin Roberts

THE SETTING: The Omni Hotel was the setting for a gathering of fundraising for one of Dallas’ most anticipated annual luncheons. Hundreds of the area’s top business leaders, community advocates, sociables, and philanthropists turned out for the annual Junior League of Dallas Milestones Luncheon featuring Good Morning America Anchor Robin Roberts.

THE STYLE: The luncheon-chic crowd began the event with a VIP reception in the Katy Trail Room, where guests had the opportunity to meet Roberts and mingle with friends. During the pre-event reception, attendees purchased raffle tickets for four luxe items, including a Wine Tasting for ten people at the private wine club, 55 Seventy. As guests took their seats in the ballroom, they began dining on their delicious meal where emcee WFAA Anchor Cynthia Izaguirre kept the festivities moving at a fun, brisk pace. Patrons were then treated to words from the event’s leaders. Next, the organization presented its Sustainer of the Year Award to Kathleen Gibson, which included a touching tribute video showcasing her tireless support for the Junior League. The afternoon was capped off with a conversation between Izaguirre and Roberts, who talked about the importance of patience and persistence, themes of Roberts’ three best-selling books.

THE PURPOSE: The event raised funds for the Junior League of Dallas. Since its founding in 1922, it has become one of the largest Junior League chapters in the world. Each year, the organization provides leadership opportunities to 4,000 women between the ages of 25 and 49 and provides approximately 100,000 hours of volunteer service to the North Texas community.
