CHOOSING SOMETHING DIFFERENT

CHOOSING SOMETHING DIFFERENT

Now that we’ve gotten used to sheltering in, we’re looking at the world’s opportunities nearby  with brand new eyes. When you do venture out, here’s a selection of what to see and do this fall across the state that will feel like something new indeed, according to our guy-on-the-go Lance Avery Morgan.

LET THERE BE MUSIC

The new multi-block Music Lane development, along hipster South Congress Avenue in Austin, will be the new destination for both locals and visitors alike. The 163,000 square-foot stretch over several city blocks will contain the new Soho House private club (the first one in Texas and it will have a rooftop space) with 25 retail stores, offices and restaurants in the mix including Nak Armstrong Jewelry, LeLabo, Buck Mason, and other luxe brands that are must-haves.

GET CARRIED AWAY

Two Dallas-based designers have created a new luxe luggage line for their company, Franki Ray. These top of the line totes, briefcases, backpacks, wallets, and other fine leather accessories have bright bursts of color and linings to enhance your own style. $995 as shown. At FrankiRay.com.

WOMEN X 100

With the Women’s Suffrage Centennial this year, we love learning more about the roots of the women’s voting movement with a brand new digital site. Thoughtfully created during the pandemic by Corpus Christi native-turned-Austinite Mary Tally, it offers numerous compelling stories on so many lives that have made a difference to women…and mankind. VERY, VERY VILLA

The new Commodore Perry Estate, Auberge Resorts Collection, a private club with a forthcoming restaurant, Lutie’s, is now open to the public. This majestic urban oasis, built in 1928 and completely re-furbished, is the hot new destination for a weekend, a wedding, or pool time. Its lush, formal grounds evoke an East Coast estate with an updated century-old domain with a modern, comfortable twist. At AubergeResorts.com/CommodorePerry.

MEANWHILE, BACK AT THE RANCH

The Texas-based Lone River Beverage Company’s Founder & CEO, native Texan Katie Beal Brown, is turning heads with Ranch Water. The first 80-calorie hard seltzer is a twist on the classic Ranch Water cocktail that has long been a favorite of West Texans and West Texans-at-heart. The three, flavored 100% organic agave, natural lime juice and gluten-free alcohol base drinks are sure to become a favorite. At LoneRiverBevCo.com.

JUST BREATHE

You don’t have to be in Switzerland to enjoy world class luxury health treatments. In Austin, you are a stone’s throw away from a state-of-the-art wellness center, EvolvE, where you can gain better sleep, improve immune function, reduce pain, gain more energy, and enhance recovery. And, we highly recommend the Cryo chamber among all the other amenities. At EvolvEATX.com.
