Briscoe Western Art Museum Luncheon Honors Jack and Valerie Guenther

THE SETTING: The Jack Guenther Pavilion at the Briscoe Western Art Museum was the setting for a luncheon honoring the generosity that has been instrumental in the success of one of San Antonio’s most revered cultural institutions. Many museum supporters and community leaders gathered to honor Jack and Valerie Guenther who were presented with the 2018 Dolph and Janey Briscoe Legacy Award.

THE STYLE: The attendees congratulated the Guenthers for their support of the Briscoe Museum. As friends and admirers made their way to their seats for the luncheon and program, there was a sense of appreciation, respect and admiration in the air.

Various speakers shared stories of the Guenthers and how their support of the Briscoe has supported and enriched the lives of so many, including their philanthropic donations of many pieces of art generously given to the museum’s permanent collection. The Honorable Nelson Wolff summed up the sentiments of the afternoon by proclaiming “Without the tenacity of Jack Guenther, there would not be a Briscoe Western Art Museum.”

THE PURPOSE: The legacy award luncheon, co-chaired by Nancy Loeffler, Jane Macon and Debbie Montford, raised funds for the Briscoe Western Art Museum which preserves and showcases the history and culture of the American West.
