THE SETTING: The legendary Southfork Ranch, home to the iconic show Dallas, was the setting for an epic night of fundraising that will long live in the annals of Texas social lore. Over 3,000 of North Texas’s most notable community leaders, music lovers, sociables, and philanthropists turned out for the 50th annual Cattle Baron’s Ball benefiting the American Cancer Society

THE STYLE: The “Western glam” attired crowd featured classic denim and cowboy hats mixed with bright colors, metallics, and sequins, creating a welcoming environment that oozed Texas hospitality. The night began with a VIP reception where select guests enjoyed the stunning grounds of Southfork while sipping their favorite spirits. They were then joined by the rest of the revelers, who brought the fun and energy levels even higher as they purchased raffle tickets for a series of luxury prizes announced later in the evening.

Next came a spirited live auction with an array of luxury experiences, including one special winner who won the ultimate instant gratification auction item: the opportunity to sit onstage during the performance of music legend Shania Twain. The night’s highlight was the performance by Twain herself, who had the crowd on their feet as she belted out a mix of her classic hits and newer material. The night was capped off with an after party where the fun continued into the wee hours of the morning to the tunes of the Randy Rogers Band.

THE PURPOSE: The 50th Annual Cattle Baron’s Ball, co-chaired by Andrea Cheek and Isabell Novakov Higginbotham, raised over $5.3 million for the American Cancer Society. The largest single-night fundraiser for the organization in the United States each year, the event has raised over $98 million over the past 50 years for cancer research initiatives, which have helped result in a 33% decline in cancer mortality between 1991 and 2020. The 51st Annual Cattle Baron’s Ball, co-chaired by Lora Farris and Marjon Zabihi Henderson, will be on September 28, 2024. For more information, please visit CattleBaronsBall.com.
